I hope the weather will be nicer to you all than it was for the Funstrummers. We played at the Stanislaus County Fair (Central Valley of CA) in 100+ degree heat! It sure was fun though. Good luck with your fair gig. I miss my HB friends!

Well, T-65, just for you. More than 45 of us got out to the OC Fair very early (noonish) and hung out at the huge stage area enjoying each others company. It was a beautiful, sunny, perfect-temp day and we watched the act preceding ours, a group of about 25 line-dancers. They seemed to have a lotta' fun, too. When it was our turn we took about 10 minutes to set up seats, mics, etc for our Island Bazaar folks. The wonderful and musical Shirley Orlando led us in a straight 30 minutes of songs and we were loud, enthusiastic and right on musically. A few of the songs were Jamaica Farewell, Jambalaya, Little Deuce Coupe, Santa Catalina, I'll See you in My Dreams. Much to our delight after we started at 1:20PM the audience drew and hung around (always a good sign!). Well into the performance the crowd was big and into the whole thing! As we finished MANY folks came up to ask questions and got info about Island Bazaar and how to get involved. But more than anything else (IMHO), the real great part about the event was how excited and thrilled the folks were who participated......what fun! How blessed we are to have such opportunities. BBT

I was surprised we had a bigger turnout for our performance last Wednesday. I had a marvelous time.

Stay away from the "Deep Fried Butter" booth. Especially before a performance. Yes they actually had a booth that sold deep fried everything including butter. I had a fun time playing at the fair. I felt like a kid again. I performed in a rock band there 30 years ago. It bought back good memories.

I particularly liked the idea of bacon dipped in chocolate and deep fried.......mmmmmmm! And you, Danno, did a fine job on the solo intro that we joined in on with "I'll See You In My Dreams." Great time. BBT

Too late. Already had a taste or two and it's still sticking to me. That was so much fun, and the whipped cream and chocolate drizzle was a good touch.

I used the deep fried butter on my uke strings. Wow what a difference. Playing those moveable chords became much easier. I think I'll get a patent on the Idea.

Just kidding don't try butter on your uke!
