Biographical Information - Dan "Soybean"
Sawyer:
Dan Sawyer “Soybean” is a composer and musician. He has been working in the animation field since 1991 when he created the music for Nickelodeon’s Doug. Since that time he has written the music for countless TV and film projects including 101
Dalmatians, LA Lakers, Disney’s Stanley, PB&J Otter and Survivor.
As a guitarist, Sawyer has played and recorded with some of pop music’s biggest names including Barbra Streisand, Al Jarreau, Joe Cocker and Bette Midler.
Sawyer has completed his first CD of uke music entitled Uke Of Ages. It includes original compositions for the uke and also jazz, blues and bluegrass. “I’m trying to expand the boundaries of uke music by bringing in new styles and techniques.” He’s started playing the uke at 10 years old when his father gave him a simple Martin soprano uke. “The ukulele holds a special place in my heart. It just has some magic quality that makes you want to play it.”
