| I have a Meisel clip-on tuner, model MCT-8L, that uses up batteries much faster than the similar Intelli IMT-500. I prefer the Meisel tuner in that it has a faster response time and is somewhat physically smaller, but the thing is going to break me up buying batteries. I don't know if this is characteristic of the Meisel or if this one has a bit wrong with it. Can anyone shed some light?... |

Meisel and Intelli are one in the same. Made in Korea by a single company, the case dimensions differ a bit, but the electronics are the same.
If you are sure the Meisel is using up batteries faster than an Intelli, it is quite possible that the Meisel is having problems. There is no reason that both tuners should not operate exactly the same.
FYI, there has been an upgrade to the Meisel case that hasn't been duplicated in the Intelli...yet. The most recent Meisel's buttons are now damped and no longer rattle when left clamped onto the headstock. Not sure when, or if, the Intelli will get the same treatment.
