| Has anyone else had recent problems posting photos on Marketplace? The last two times I've placed an ad there the photos wouldn't post. Instructions about the FAQ file are no help. I checked there and couldn't find any reference to preparing photos. I can add photos to Craig's list ads, but not Marketplace. Does our Moderator, Paul, also oversee the Marketplace, so do I need to contact someone else? Any help is appreciated. Frank B. |

| I don't know if this helps, Frank, but I noticed that sometimes files won't display if they're not in JPG format, of reasonably small size, and have the ".jpg" extension added to the name. Good luck!

| Frank, I just looked at your ad and moused over the broken link icon. It looks like you have a pound sign "#" and/or dashes ("-") in the file name. Is that right? If so, you might want to take those out and see if the photo loads.

| Thanks for your help Tom. The photos are JPG format, but they may be too big. I thought of that, be I don't know how to make them smaller. I am quite technologically challenged. I also tried to remove the dashes and # sign, but it didn't make any difference. The part that bothers me is that I have successfully posted photos before using the same software I now have, and everything worked. My son-in-law is a PC person, so I'll enlist his help. There is a solution. I'll keep trying until I find it. Frank B.

| Our moderator, Paul Cundari, contacted me directly, and offered his help. I am sure the problem is on my computer and due in part to my clueless approach to personal computing. But, my thanks goes to Tom B. and to Paul. You fellows are the best. Frank B.

Google has a great FREE photo program called Picasa. It does a lot of nice things; but the slickest is sending photos in e-mails. You just click on any photo you have in Picasa and ten click e-mail at the bottom of the page and Picasa puts it in a new e-mail form and reduces the size and the resolution for easy e-mailing. Just search for Picas in Google and it's yours.

| Thanks for the tip, Dasher. I'll look into that. Paul Cundari had mercy on me and posted my photos to my ad. I think that is above and beyond on his part. And Jim Beloff has informed me that the instructions for photo preparation have been reposted in the FAQ files, so some good has come from my difficulty. If only there was a pill I could take that would give me some understanding of personal computing: oh well that's only on Star Trek. Frank B.
