Make Music NY, Ukulele Mass Appeal
Once again it's time to celebrate the summer solstice the best way possible: with your ukuleles! Next Thursday, June 21, it's the annual Make Music NY festival, with music all around the city, including the Ukulele Mass Appeal: 3 hours of some of your favorite NY uke performers and an open mic and strum along.
Open mic and strum-along 5-6pm. Scheduled performers 6-8pm, including Bliss Blood, Joe Silver, the Suaverinos and other stars from the NY uke circuit.

Ukulele at the Ashokan & Western Swing Week
An entire week of Swing style ukulele with Gerald Ross. The emphasis will be on Swing/Blues music but the techniques, chords and melodic lines taught can be used in all forms of ukulele music. Can you form your basic uke chords and switch between them easily and up to tempo? If so, you are ready for this fun class. NO MUSIC THEORY, NO MUSIC READING! This is your vacation - we'll have fun while learning more about the uke! Beautiful wooded setting, friendly creative people, lots of laughs, good times and great food! I'll be performing my uke concerto "Uke Can't Be Serious" at two outdoor evening concerts with the WSO over this weekend. The Saturday concert will be on the Madison, CT green. Bring your ukes, during the intermission I'll be leading a sing and strum-along!
