Ukulele at Augusta Swing Week
Swing Week is part of the Augusta Heritage summer camp series. Ukulele is taught this year by Gerald Ross and Ralph Shaw (see Gerald's post on the bulletin board. Other instruments include lap steel, guitar, drums, bass, mandolin, horns, voice, and fiddle (taught this year by the famed Buddy Spicher). We are at the same time as Bluegrass Week too. Aaron Lee Live in Chicago
Ukulele Player and Songwriter Aaron Lee is touring to support the release of his new album titled "The Ukulele Project", which includes 14 original tracks that all creatively and intentionally feature the word ‘ukulele’ somewhere in the lyrics. He will be performing a solo concert on August 3 at the The Red Line Tap in Chicago in support of bluegrass band "The Mudflapps."
Lee stumbled across a ukulele in his parents’ basement and was quickly drawn to it for it’s unique sound and portability. As it happens to be the perfect size to strap on a backpack or a bicycle, the ukulele was always there when creativity struck, and Aaron began writing a

Aloha, ukulele lovers!
We're pleased to have Hawaii's foremost female ukulele player in concert on our stage-- Brittni Paiva.
THE CONCERT:
Brittni will showcase the special style that has earned her the respect and adoration of fans internationally. We are fortunate to be able to enjoy the prodigious gift of this bright, 21-year-old ukulele master at our Academy.
THE WORKSHOP:
Brittni will be teaching a workshop focusing on the beauty of chords and her special style. The result is memorizing less, and understanding more—see the uke from Brittni's expert perspective. 1-hour workshop starts at 5:30, $30 per person. Workshop attendees can attend the concert FREE! (call us to reserve your spot at the workshop).

CT Intermediate Ukulele Workshop
Taught by “Jumpin’ Jim Beloff," this workshop takes off from where the beginner workshop ends. More challenging arrangements and chord solos are introduced with sophisticated jazz chord changes. Also, finger-picking patterns and performance techniques will be highlighted. Time will be set aside at the end of the workshop for those who would like to perform a song (including Jumpin’ Jim himself).
