| I was in Reno last night, picking up my granddaughter for church. I stopped briefly at a Burger King, and noticed a couple young Islander-types across the parking lot, and one had a uke, playing it. I couldn't hear him, but from his fingering, I could tell he knew what he was doing. So, I pulled out my Triumph from the back seat and stepped over to them. The uke they had was a Kala tenor, I believe. They were fascinated by the Triumph, and asked to play it, which they did, and far superior to my weak talents-made it sound nice. It was a nice meeting, brief, but fun, since there is little uke culture here. I told them about this site-hope they find it! |

| sounds like a common occurence of what happens here in the islands; all the kids have Kala.. that's how i learned how good the laminate tenors are... what we learn from the kids sometimes.
