It killed my budding uke career and now its migrated to my knees. Having my first knee replacement surgery tomorrow; second knee in December. Wish me luck! |

Best of luck. I'm sure you'll be strumming again soon.

Sorry about your knees! Mine empathize and send their best wishes! Try cutting out nightshade plants from your diet: tomatoes, potatoes, bell peppers, eggplant. There may be a few others. Some say there's no proof but there actually was a study that showed a correlation. When I stopped eating all my garden tomatoes I could type and fret again. I went from so sore and inflamed I was doing ice water soaks and heat and couldn't type, to just sort of stiff and a bit sore now and then, depending on how hard I work my hands. YMMV.

Well, I'll sure as heck I'll try that. Beats surgery, for sure. My surgeon said it was going to be brutal and he was right. Only good memory I am going to take away with me is right before they wheeled me in to the surgery my doc asked me if I had any questions. I said: "Will I be able to play the piano afterwards?" To a man, the whole team replied: "Can you play now?" Vaudeville didn't die, it just went to audience participation.
