I inherited a 1959 gold label Kamaka, too small for my ham-like hands. I swapped it for lifetime lessons and an Oscar Schmidt baritone. Happy? Yowza! |

1959 Kamaka? I would have opted for hand surgery!

Hoot, I also have big hands and when I first tried to play a soprano uke It was pretty hard to do. I fooled around for a good while with a tenor and once I developed a some muscle memory I could play the little uke. It's kind of fun because I'm a big guy and it's such a little uke. I can even play a sophorino, not great but hey, It's fun.

Yeah, that doesn't seem like a very fair trade!

Yep. You was robbed! Thats a 1000$ uke for a 50$ uke. Hope the lessons come with steak dinner and a foot rub too!

It's not a trade I would have made, but if the OP is happy with his new baritone and the quality of the lessons he's getting, I wouldn't rain on his parade. Hoot, make lots of music with that Oscar Schmidt and make sure you cash in on that lifetime of lessons.
