Probably a lot of the frequent posters here don't need another book. However, if you've been looking for something to gently [at the start] challenge you to improve your skills, I recommend looking at Susan's book. I am half way through it [I Could Have Danced All Night/Ding Dong the Witch is Dead]. I'm to the point where I may top out [I was hoping to get to Vincent]. The side effect has been my note & tab reading skills have improved considerably. Hitting these Broadway chord progressions on Ukulele is thrilling. I know there are several chord melody method books on the market. Full disclosure: Susan is my former neighbor. In addition to that she is a very very highly regarded Seattle area teacher & leader in the Ukulele community. In fact, you can play 3 degrees of separation with Susan's name for Seattle Ukulele and hit 80% of the advanced players & 50% of the average ones. Check out her website; she's the real deal and this book is worth a look. |
