I have owned a fluke ukulele with a wood fret-board for over 10 years. Taken on with me for 50 or more flights, keep it in the back seat of my car through the 4 seasons, it has never failed me.
The passive pickup works well and sounds great.
I think a Flea ukulele would be just as hardy.

Hi Steve-o-reno. I've been off this site for a long time, but it sure feels great to get back on here. My 13 year old fluke, just the standard one, is my go-to-anywhere instrument. With that said, I also now have one with a wood fretboard, and those add to my 12+ custom wood ukes that I perform and play with.

I go with my Tiki King. Rosewood fretboard soprano that intonates like a dream. Very flat and trim side profile on the Flea that makes it neat and easy to stow away. Best travel uke hands down.
