Uncle Eddie Kamae passed away yesterday. His dedication to the preservation of traditional Hawaiian music and folklore was extraordinary and his prowess on the 'ukulele is legendary. Thank you, for the beauty that you shared with us. |

There was a nice obituary in the N.Y. Times:

Also very sad, though not specifically ukulele-related, is the passing of Maggie Roche, of 'The Roches'

Thanks,
Drew

Thanks, Drew for the articles on Uncle Eddie and Maggie. Uncle Eddie is such an inspiration as a 'ukulele player and musician. He had great taste and never overplayed anything. Always right on the mark. I did get to see Maggie and her sisters many, many years ago and they were wonderful. What great and unique harmonies. Thanks, again!

Uncle Eddy was the man for many of my heroes, so his legacy lives on in the next generations.
