Hi All, Been away for a while...a LONG while...my how the uke world has changed! ALL those new websites...with bad info...oh well...

Anyway, can't possibly keep up with trends, the hot new this-and-that. Too busy playing, uke and lots of other things. But now want to do a little work on my Favilla bari, including new tuners, just wanted to get some ideas of what's out there now. Thanks in advance! -Jim

Hi Jim. Nice to see another old timer here. I'm not up on the latest technology either, but you might look into some of the planetary tuners that are designed to look like regular friction tuners. I think Gotoh makes them. Others might as well. (And of course, there are Pegheds, but I don't think they'd look right on a Favilla bari.) Good luck!

I do love my Peghead tuners.

I have a LoPrinzi tenor custom based on their model 2 that had Grover 85 tuners. Awful tuners and would not stay in tune. Did not want the "ears" that go with geared tuners so installed a set of the new Gotoh planetary tuners. What a joy! They are light, look right, and stay in tune. And it was quite simple making the change. I have pegheads on a couple of other ukes, but on the LoPrinzi the Gotoh planetary tuners look right (and fit in my old Harptone case). I highly recommend them, and am getting around to putting a set on my Harmony Baritone.
