I'm curious: why would anyone go to the trouble to add his/her name to the Player Directory and not leave any contact information? If I'm traveling to East Overshoe and would like to look up uke players in the area, all I can find is "Ima Uker" with no way of getting in touch, to see what the local ukulele scene might be. I confess to being confused. |

I believe the contact information is an optional step. If the person in East Overshoe would welcome contact, they would take the extra step. Also, I doubt anyone ever removes themselves from the PD. I know for sure one beloved player who is strumming in that great sound circle "up above".
If you google by name of town you're going to, you can get some idea if there is a local scene [clubs, uke friendly music stores/coffee houses, etc]. You can even post here where you're going. Sometimes a player who uses this site knows someone there.

I totally agree. I've read too many messages that say they want to meet other ukers but there is no way to contact them.

I live in a town in middle Wisconsin with no ukulele players that I am aware of. I saw someone posting on the directory in a town 20 miles from me. There is no way to contact that person. So I still uke on by myself.
