I've been reading the Bulletin Board for some time, but I've never seen a posting about a seller who mistreated someone on a ukulele purchase. I wonder if this means there have never been any dissatisfied buyers, or maybe it just doesn't get posted. Or maybe it gets posted somewhere else. Just wondering how we go about grading our sellers. |

Part of the answer is probably that it's mostly higher-end ukuleles that end up here, and people are already cautious when buying or selling them. Another part is probably that this website makes it easy for members to identify other members by their full email and more often than not their full name. In my humble opinion, installing a grading system is less effective against fraude.

Hi, Karl--
Yes, I agree with you. But still, in all this time, I've never seen one post from someone who felt the seller did something wrong, misrepresented an instrument, or whatever. Either our sellers are all incredibly honorable, or maybe we don't have a mechanism for reporting bad behavior.

I remember something went on awhile back. In the end it was taken care of and the administrators closed the thread. If the marketplace is used by members (or musicians), then there shouldn't be a problem. Generally, that's what goes on in that the public doesn't (nor would they) know about us, but ukers do, even ukers on the other side of the pond.
I am very grateful that the good folks at Flea Market Music, Inc. provide us with this most excellent free classified section. However, I don't like seeing it abused by commercial vendors who use it continuously as a free method of advertising, promoting, and selling their worthless products to the naive.
