Heading to Kauai this summer for a family vacation and seeking advice on uke stores on this island. Might spend a day or two in Honolulu and will hopefully visit the Kamaka factory.

We go to Kauai nearly every year and have discovered there's more live music on Oahu than Kauai. Have fun!

Thanks Craig. Any advice on a good place to stay (condos) on the south or north shores of Kauai for families? How about Uke stores? A friend told me there is a store called Larry's that has a nice selection of ukes but not sure where on Kauai.

the only store with any selection has been Scotty's. Word is know your prices before going in, as you may feel like bait at feeding time. They are in Kalaheo right on the highway at the top of the town before dropping down to the west side.
Larry's is in Kapaa on the east side. Some bb'ers love visiting yet he seems to only carry Kamaka (at quite a markup) and another brand (import, i think).. maybe Mele too.
Kauai Music and Sound is my favorite "blue collar music store" but lately they have dropped a large selection from what used to be Bounty, to mostly Kala and a few Hawaiian brands.
Watch out for Island Ukes; built here; expensive and inconsistent.
Here is "the" events calendar:

Monday nights for the next few weeks finishes up the seasonal Kanikapila Kakou series; Free music; outstanding Haw'n artists at the Hilton near the airport.

Honolulu definately has a lot more stores and a lot more music that is easily accessible.

Larry's also carries Koalohas and Ponos. Even though I've never purchased a ukulele from Sam (the owner), it's a great place to hang out and visit.

This is Sam inside of his shop:

Thank everyone. I will check Larry's and the other shops this summer while in Kauai and probably make it to Kamaka as well. I have a Kamaka concert that I bought from Bounty about five years ago and have been very pleased with the uke.

Scotty's on the South Shore is the best. Really nice people, too. When you get to Kauai, ask a music teacher at a local middle school for information. They know where the deals are, because they have to.
