Kala Travel Soprano and Waverley Street Travel Soprano
I have two travel ukes for sale. The first is a standard Kala Travel Soprano uke that looks great and sounds o.k. It is fine for a travel uke but I wouldn't record with it as the intonation is not perfect. Don't get me wrong, it is o.k. for a travel uke. What you may notice is that I added a pickup to this model. I was going to build a cigar box uke but never got around to it so I put it in this one instead. It works fine. $110.00 shipped CONUS. Oh, it comes with that cool Kala fitted case.

It has a small split in the back, about an inch long but it is so slight that you can't even see it. See the photo. You can feel it if you run your finger over it. Dave said to put some wood glue in it and that's what I've done. It appears stable. $120 shipped. CONUS. No case.

Johnny Marvin - Prince of Wales - koa
Beautiful crack-free, koa Johnny Marvin Professinal Tenor ukulele. Front and back are tiger-striped, super golden koa. Ivoroid binding on front (bwbw), back (w), and soundhole (bwbw). Rosewood fretboard with 12 frets to the body and 4 pearl fret markers (3,5,7,10). Mother of toilet-seat headstock veneer with mostly intact, all black decal; sticker on the back reads "The Harmony Company, Chicago, USA, Makers". Deluxe grover tuners in gold (!) with ivory buttons. Airplane-shaped maple bridge with bone saddle (not original) and pearl-filled bridge pins. This ukulele previously had a poorly installed pick-guard that was removed leaving horrible glue spots and taking with it some small bits of the wood. Mike DaSilva (luthier extraordinaire) worked serious magic on the damaged area of the front, removing the glue, and subsequently refinishing the uke. The only thing better than the way this uke looks is the way this uke sounds. It is rich, resonant and in Mike's own words "this is one GREAT sounding ukulele". Hate to part with it but I know there is a home out there where it will be loved and played!

1960's Martin Style O Ukulele
Here is a vintage Martin Style O soprano ukulele in excellent condition. Beautiful crack free mahogany body with rosewood fretboard and simple appointments. This is a fine example with wonderful playability and the CLASSIC Martin tone. There are a couple minor bumps, dings, and finish imperfections, but in overall very nice condition for a vintage Martin. The pictures below show it's appearance accurately. 30's Martin Style 1 Soprano Ukulele
This is a wonderful example of the craftsmanship out of Nazareth, PA in the early 1930's. This ukulele represents the transtition period at Martin when the company was in the process of changing some of its ukulele building specs. During this period they stopped stamping the back of the headstock and applied a decal to the front of the headstock. Also, on the Style 1 ukuleles they switched from rosewood binding to faux tortise shell.
This near mint example has the Decal on the Front of the Headstock and retains the Rosewood Body Binding.
The ukulele is very elegant and presents itself as well in person as it does in the photos. It really looks that good!

Roy Smeck - Vita Uke
Wonderful sounding Roy Smeck Vita from the 20s or 30s. Spruce top with seal-shaped soundholes, 3-ply binding, mahogany sides, back and neck. Rosewood fretboard with four pearloid fret markers (3,5,7,10). Headstock with mostly intact decal, really nice Grover tuning pegs. This uke is in good condition with only 2 nearly imperceptible cracks -- surprisingly not at the tails of the seals -- one on the front right in the middle (making it appear that the soundboard is bookmatched), one on the back is small and runs from the edge about 2". The finish has a really nice crazing and there is some strum wear on the finish. I have it strung with Fremont black strings and it sounds really lovely. Unfortunately, this uke isn't getting the attention that it deserves so I've decided to let it go. Includes soft vinyl gig bag.

This is an all solid mahogany tenor Pono ukulele with a passive pickup.
Times are tough and I have to let go of a perfect Pono MTE Tenor. This uke has been kept humidified and barely played (aside from trying different strings here and there). It is in absolutely perfect condition. I put some high quality pictures up...THEY are NOT STOCK PHOTOS. I took them with a high quality camera because somebody on ebay requested me to do so, and I emailed her the high quality shots. Anyway, I'm selling this for a fraction of the full price because I need to sell quickly. There is no flaw in the uke at all.

I almost didn't sell the uke after hearing them -- they fit the Pono that well.

Regal tiple
Here is a nice budget priced tiple. If you ever wanted to try a tiple but didn't want to pay the Martin price, this might be the one for you. I don't know the year, but this is the only Regal tiple I've seen with the sunburst finish. Tiple is in nice shape, no repairs, cracks or modifications. It is a little dinged up and some light scratches. Plays well, good action, frets are excellent, intonation is almost as good as my Martin, which is to say, ok, tiples are not known for spot on intonation, nature of the beast, bridge is tight. This one is louder than my Martin, a real attention getter. Martin Style 1k koa soprano in absolutely mint condition. Based on bar frets, decal on front of headstock, and faux tortoise binding, this was most likely made between 1938 and 1942 (when Martin stopped making the Style 1k). Beautiful golden koa front and back with nice patina -- no cracks, repairs, scratches. Rosewood fretboard with bar frets, 4 position markers, 12 frets to the body. Rosewood nut and saddle. 5-ply rosette around soundhold (BWBWB) and binding front (BWTortoise) and back (Tortoise). Headstock with perfect decal, deluxe Grover tuners and original gut strings. Perfect action, perfect intonation. This ukulele is the most pristine uke I have seen for one this age (70+ years old). Comes with original canvas case (cloth is ripped around zipper). Looks and sounds fantastic!

For sale/ For trade T-1 Ko'olau tenor (Reduced Price)
I purchased this less than a year ago on ebay from Andy's Guitars. This 'ukulele is in good shape although is does have some shiny parts on the back and on the soundboard where your arm rests while playing from rubbing, a small scratch from the strings, and a small ding near the saddle(in picture.) No cracking or seperating. This is a Ko'olau T-1 tenor with a satin finish. It has a sitka spruce top with koa back and sides, a mahogany neck, a rosewood fretboard, and a rosewood headstock cap. It has sealed gear grover tuners and is currently strung with worth brown low G strings. It has a clear pickguard on the top and bottom of the soundboard where you strum. It is barely noticeable and prevents those ugly scratches from hard strumming. It comes with the original brown hardshell Ko'olau case although there are stickers on it. I will also include a set of worth clear high G and a set of worth brown low G strings. This 'ukulele sounds great but I have since realized that I prefer a concert size. I am accepting trade offers of a koa wood Koaloha, Kamaka, or Kanile'a concert 'ukulele plus cash(amount if any depends on the condition.) Kamaka Baritone, from NAMM show
Beautiful Koa, Ko'olau Hard Case, bought from Sam Kamaka at NAMM a couple years ago.
It is in mint shape, and sounds and plays great. Too Nice for me! It has never left my music room. No dings. Still smells good too.

This is a limited addition, Spalted Flamed Maple, Long Necked soprano.
Mahogany neck w/rosewood fingerboard and bridge, geared tuners with amber buttons, mahogany-bound body. Abalone soundhole rosette. Synthetic bone nut and saddle. Longer, 18 fret neck on soprano body.
I love the looks and sound of this Uke, but decided that I would prefer a larger body.

One side by side set of Kiwaya factory replacement tenor ukulele tuners sent as replacements for an upscale Kiwaya tenor I no longer own. These are geared vintage Kluson style tuners. 1920's Martin 1K
This is truly a keeper instrument. I collected at least 6 comparable examples which have all since been sold.
This 1k was head and shoulders above the rest of the competition. I never really knew why except that it may have something to do with the slightly chunkier neck. Great action and intonation, crack free. beautiful complex tone.
Comes complete with original gun case. Currently strung with Aquila gut strings which compliment this instrument perfectly.
I wish I could keep it but I need to direct the funds into my vintage recording studio.
Not sure of the current market value so sensible offers please.
Meanwhile if any one could give advice on market value it would be much appreciated.

L. Nunes Ukulele
This ukulele was part of an estate from Rockport, MA. The inside of the ukulele still has the original label that reads "Ukulele Native Hawaiian Instrument Made Especially and Exclusively by L. Nunes for Geo. J. Birkel Co. 446-448 S. Broadway Los Angeles California." On this label, the name L Nunes appears to have been signed. There are no cracks on the front or back, but there is a crack on one side next to a knot in the woodgrain. Even though there are 2 missing pegs in the peghead, the 2 included are the original wood pegs. If you would like additional photos taken, please let me know. C.F. Martin & Co. Ukulele from Nazareth, PA. This ukulele has "C F Martin & Co Nazareth PA" stamped logo on the peghead but no decal on the headstock, which dates this ukulele to pre-1930. For its age, this instrument is in fine condition and the finish is in excellent condition. There is a small dent on the front, one small chip on the back, and 2 hairline cracks on the back (please see photos). This rare ukulele has been part of an estate for over 75 years.
