My uke club (The Tampa Bay Ukulele Society) uses The Daily Ukulele as our official songbook and one of our members mentioned that his favorite song from the book is Randy Newman's "You've Got A Friend In Me" (page 332).
What's your favorite song from The Daily Ukulele?

| Waiting for my copy to arrive any day now ... also recently obtained a copy of the Berkeley Ukulele Club's songbook via Staples and received Ukulele Songs for Dummies ... lots to sample in all these!

At Island Bazaar in HB, CA, I decided to use "The Daily Ukulele" as the group book for our newbies' sing-along/play-along group, called "E Z Dozen." We only play about 90 songs from the book that have the basic easiest 12 chords (Thus the name "EZ Dozen"). We're running an average of about 35-40 folks and they seem to love it.
So, while I have played most of the songs in the book myself, I gravitate to the ones used in our group. One I love to lead in because it is oh-so-sweet (and easy for the newbies) is the haunting "BEAUTIFUL DREAMER." It's a big hit every time we use it. Thanks, Stephen Foster and the Beloffs. BBT

Great idea BBT!
BTW, what are the 12 easiest chords? I whittled it down to 13... and that's leaving out the diminished chord shape...
Am, A7, B7, C, C7,
D, Dm, D7, E7, Em, F, G, G7

| The EZ Dozen I personally decided upon are: C, C7, A, Am, A7, F, D7 ("lazy" D7), Dm, G, G7, E7, Em. Opinions would differ as to the "easiest" or most "basic" chords, but IMHO these are the ones I went with. Some new folks find the D and B7 a bit daunting.......and I don't find them necessary for a LOT of good songs. Aloha, Tom

| I haven't really figured that out yet. I'm still looking through it. The book is fun to look at.

Hiya Steve,
I just got the Daily Ukulele as a gift and I've lost a LOT of sleep because of it (in a good way).
The songs I keep coming back to are "Hey Jude" (but it has Bflat later on in the song), and also "King of the Road"

There are sooo many wonderful songs in the DU. One of my favorites though, is Pennies From Heaven.

My favorite is probably "It's Only A Paper Moon" as it's the first song my daughter and I sang together to the accompaniment of a ukulele. We still sing it when we perform live.
