Well... sort of. Looks like they are testing the waters. Once they gear up and get all their machinery in place they'll start cranking them out.
Interesting... their tenor scale length is 17.25" as opposed to the traditional 17". |

Looks like you have to buy the matched set of uke and guitar. Only 30 are going to be made. I can image to price the way they are pitching it as a Builder's Reserve Series. Usually means $$$$$$$.
Does look nice.

Ukeeku has a video on his web site taken at NAMM of the new Taylor uke.

| Are many people interested in BOTH guitar and ukulele at the same time in their life? I wonder....Anyway, I wouldn't buy anything that forces me to buy something else too. It would be nice if they sold them separately.

$8K for the set!
see- http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/jan/19/ukuleles-stand-tall-namm-trade-show/
It's very shiny! Taylor should throw in a matching pair of pumps and purse.

Taylor is very big into machining and churning out guitars in a step-by-step laid out way. It's a "creative" assembly line approach.
Once they have the machines, templates and building steps nailed down they will be churning these out by the 100's.
Most likely they will build them at their Mexico site - the same place they build their GS Mini guitars.

| Reminds of the time my wife and I went to see a screening of "The Paleface", at which Bob Hope made a live appearance. I learned that he was signing autographs afterward, and was looking forward to meeting him... as I waited in line, I learned that you had to purchase his wife's CD in order to get an autograph. I don't like being strong-armed into buying something I don't want, so I have no autograph, and I won't be getting a Taylor ukulele any time soon.
