Hi gang,
Here is Gerald Ross on Hawaiian steel, accompanied by Marv & Kathy Reitz on guitar and bass ukulele. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xmh8clXS2HM
Gerald perfomed it, at my request, at his workshop on Hawaiian steel at The Portland Uke Fest 09.

Thanks for posting this video Jimmy. We're a bit shaky at the start but we end the tune nicely.
Kathy Reitz is playing a "Stretch" uke bass made by famed uke luthier Joel Eckhaus.

My bald spot is not so evident in the video. Keep watching that spot - within a few years I'll probably have the Larry Fine look.

Love your steel work. Great song and impromptu performance.
I'll have to make it out to the Portland Uke Fest one of these years.

| This is a wonderful version of the Sol Hoopi classic by Gerald. Tasty! We should also give some much deserved credit to the contribution that Marv & Kathy Reitz made to the Portland Ukefest this year. Marv played some great clarinet at the Swing Dance on Thursday and Kathy sang a very nice version of "Sugar Moon" at the dance. That was one of the highlights of the festival for me. That song was written by the great Cindy Walker, a very under rated writer who wrote such classics as "You Don't Know Me" and "Bubbles in My Beer". I urge everyone out there to seek out more of the great vintage artists like Cindy Walker and keep their music going for another generation.
