| please just don't sing the wrong words like he does. main part he gets wrong (probably just made it up on the spot) is "the bright blessed day, dark sacred night", not "i like the dark" - don't know where the hell that came from and why everyone copies him singing that : )

Iz recorded it in an impromptu session at 2:00am, and he simply couldn't remember the words.
The original lyrics are much more poetic, scan better, and they MAKE SENSE! Why not use them?
Why copy someone else's mistake because of blind adulation?
MHO, Dave

I provide a good working tab and the correct lyrics in a version that employs both Iz's and Judy's versions.
It can be found at

| I've often wondered if the "I like the dark" was a statement about fighting depression.... That's just me wondering, I don't know if he struggled with that or not.

| I believe he says "The bright BLESS of day....." which make even less sense. I've said countless times that I don't care for all the botched lyrics. It sorely diminishes the whole effect of the song for me.
