Resist the Reggae infused, Hard Rock Cafe, SUV feel of modern Hawaii. This is what you want and need!

oh yes, but watch out for the "potato patch" just outside the Golden Gate... queasy sailing for a about an hour.
In the 50's my grandmother took my sister and I on a return cruise to Hawaii on the Matsonia, i believe. It was so big for a little kid, I would get lost. Tony Curtis and Debi Reynolds starred in a b&w film about a jazz trumpet player and the romance was steeammy.
Hawaiians dove for quarters at Aloha Harbor.
I saw flying fish in the moonlight on the way.
I didn;t get to the live entertainment but I'm sure it was delightful.

Ah yes, memories. Not mine but my dad's, as he was one of the newly drafted grunts on that Dec. 1941 return "convoy laden with troops and supplies." There are some on-board pics in his scrapbook, one I remember in particular that he captioned, in obvious understatement, "What a boat!"
But I'm just not sure that on that voyage he and the guys enjoyed the company of any of the attractive young ladies pictured in the brochure! (But when he got to Oahu, different story!)

| C'mon Gerald.... If this picture was over at ukulelia you'd see the black helicopters flying above the cruise ship beaming down micro waves which brain washed them all into thinking...... well, you'd think of something funny.
