My thread has sunk into obscurity, I can't find it myself, so I'm starting a new one just to say Thanks.
Thanks to the person who ordered the Uke Blues book for me since I can't buy online any more, accepted my payment, and mailed it to me.
Thanks to the person who sent me a bundle of uke books, some Jumpin Jims and most helpful right now, the one by the guy in a hat, who advises collecting vinyl and getting a good turntable - maybe I'll have these someday, 10X greater chance of that than CDs.
Thanks for the advice on using guitar books and just translating the chords to uke. I had a feeling it worked that way but was not sure.
Thanks for all the encouragement! YouTube is only a memory for me, and the Internet itself will probably be likewise soon - sooner than I think, I'll wake up and it'll be gone. So I want to get this in now. I was hoping to play stuff and put it on YouTube but in my world, that's becoming less and less likely to ever happen. Thus, I want to point out that for all of you, at differing times, you'll find yourself off of "the matrix" either slowly or surprisingly quickly. Your uke social circle won't be the world on YouTube, it'll be people within a short drive or a long walk. It'll be family, friends, church, Scouts, PTA, something like that. So get out uke'in locally now.
Lastly, thanks to all the jerks who think it won't happen to them. Don't worry, it'll happen. Whatsamattahyou, you can't get along wit da neighbors? You bettah learn! |
