Windy City Uke Fest 2008 Chicago
This will be the largest ukulele festivals in the Midwest. Chicago has had a strong ukulele history from ukulele manufactures to great ukulele performers. We wish to continue the aloha spirit and share with you everything the ukulele has to offer. The `ukulele is the gift that keeps on giving. We will have performers and ukulele instructors from around the world giving world-class ukulele workshops. Come and delight in the three fun-filled days of ukulele paradise. We will have an UkeTube stage where any uke player can show their stuff. The main stage will have top performers from the ukulele community. We will have starter workshops for people and kids that have never played a musical instrument of any type.
We have lined up:
Mark “Spanky” Guiterrez, Gerald Ross, Victoria Vox, Windy City Islanders, Kimo Hussey, Ali Lexa,
Tim Sweeney, Seeso, Lil’ Rev, Abe Lagrimas Jr., Steven P. Slivka and the Boar’s Head Orchestra, Barefoot Hawaiian, Jonathan Carreira, Keenan Kamae, Lopaka, Ukulele Tonya, and others.
We will have raffles, ukuleles, sing-a-longs, and ukulele instruction workshops for all levels. We will have the best ukulele vendors, and suppliers. All the ukulele merchandise you’ve dreamed about will be there. Drooling is not allowed.

What's Happenin'
We are planning appearances by some big name acts that have never performed at Oasis before, as well as return engagements from your old favorites. For the full Tiki Oasis experience we recommend you check into the hotel and don't check out til theparty is over.
Warm up for the weekend on Thursday with a pre-party at the historic Bali Hai restaurant on Shelter Island. Spend the day Friday at the Tiki Oasis Voodoo lagoon and pool and in the evening join the poolside party with a full night of live entertainment. Roam freely between live carvers, indoor/outdoor shopping bazaar, (Come to Tiki King's booth for Flukes and Fleas, UKE Stickers, and more!)and educational symposiums all day Saturday at the Crowne Plaza hotel. After dark you will be drinking, and seeing, Zombies and other Ghastly Ones during a full night of on stage Tiki terror. Still standing? Return to the saftey of your room party or catch an after hours film. If you survive all that - Chill out on Sunday with Iuka Grogg's (of the MaiKai Gents)Fantasy Ukulele Camp jam session and workshop, go shopping in our poolside bazaar featuring over forty vendors ( I'll be there all week-end! )or take in one of our educational Experts Symposiums!

Legendary uku'lele player Eddie Kamae opens the 2008-2009 Aloha Series. Eddie and Gabby Pahinui were at the start of the Hawaiian Renaissance with the original Sons of Hawaii in the early 70's and Eddie keeps the flame alive today.
