Friend needs to buy two new ukuleles for xms gifts. I suggested Flukes but too pricey for her budget. Can you suggest a cheaper uke that will stay in tune and she can order online or at GC? Thanks.
I still play but still jammin’ my 20 year old fluke. Out of touch with the ukulele market |

Hi Buddy,
Lanikai and Kala both offer decent entry level ukes in the less than $200 range. Anything less than $100 might have issues with tone and with staying in tune - which can be frustrating for a beginner.

I always recommend Kala. Good price, Aquila strings, geared tuners, and they have nice necks, not chunky. Even though I have high end ukes, I still have two Kalas that I love. The kA-SLNG is nice because it has a soprano body with concert neck, and a glossy finish, which holds up well. Also, under $100. Good luck!!
