Hi, folks. For old timers, if you remember the seminal 2003 documentary "Rock That Uke", we are pleased to announce that the movie is now available on YouTube for free viewing with no commercial interruptions. It's about an hour long.

For those unfamiliar with "Rock That Uke", the movie interviews a variety of mainland American uke players of varying levels of skill about what draws them to the instrument and what they think they're expressing by playing it. Their answers are very personal, but remarkably similar.
This is more of a philosophical "My Ukulele/My Self" film than a performance-oriented one. It's very reflective of those quirky years of the third wave in the 1990s-early 2000s, when more than a few ukulele performers were post-punk and/or musical outsiders. Some profanity is used in the interviews.
At the time it came out, to our astonishment, the movie was deemed controversial. Decide for yourselves. Maybe you'll see yourself in it, maybe not.
The doc features bookend voice narration by Holly Hunter and interviews a number of performers still quite popular today, like Janet Klein and Robert Armstrong, as well as punk legends like Carmaig DeForest.
Just wanted to give a heads up since over the years, people have asked me whether it was online for streaming. Now it is!
(NB: This is NOT the movie "Mighty Uke", which came a few years after "Rock That Uke".)
Cheers!
