| I recently purchased a banjo uke. Its not your standard banjo uke because instead of a drum-skin head it has a cedar sounding board. It's open in the back and is quite loud. Made by Terry Mead somewhere in the LA area. Every thing is great about it but the low G string is not tense enough to be correctly tuned, at least not when played open. Don't get me wrong the finger board scale, nut, and bridge are perfect. When the uke is tuned one note higher the problem is gone, apparently due to the extra tension. Is there any suggested strings to correct this. Are uke strings like nylon guitar strings in the sense that they come in a variety of tensions. |
