am looking for two used reaseonable ukelele's for my boy (15) and wife (?), both want to start and I would love to teach them. The wife has gone back to college so there's little extra kala for these things...much mahalo

How much is real cheap? You want quality or junk?
A good quality vintage ukulele will run you at least $200, but you can get junk for $25. Check out my ukulele web site link page for vintage uke dealers. I saw one on Catch and Release for $35 (but it stay JUNK):
