Hi all! Just stopping by to share some news. We realize that Chuck has been less active on the Uke Yak and so we've addressed that a bit in the recent "Where Has Chuck Been? post in the Uke Yak. Second, we've just added a wonderful and historic new CD in the online store by Lemon Nash, a uke player who performed in and around New Orleans from the 1920s through the 1960s. Definitely worth knowing about. Finally, for those in the Connecticut area, I'll be performing my ukulele concerto with the Wallingford Symphony Orchestra Sunday May 4th. More info on the free concert is available in the Calendar. Happy Spring! |

It took FMM all of about 2 minutes to turn around and ship my order of the Papa Lemon Nash CD. What an incredible collection of songs and stories! Wonderful blues and ragtime songs with cool uke accompaniment, and Mr. Nash himself telling amazing stories of the jazz scene in New Orleans in the 20s and 30s. (He lived from 1898 until 1969, and we're all really fortunate that his stories got recorded.) Hats off to both Arhoolie Records and Flea Market Music for this gift to us uke fans.
