Hi folks,

Some of you may recall that I'm a busker and I ukulele, daily,

People are always pointing cameras and phones and whatnot at me. I like it when they tip, but that's not always the case. And I rarely see what they recorded.

Here's an exception. This must have been shot a couple of months ago. It was a ticket machine technician who found it on some forum, and played it for me on his phone. I'm kind of flattered. And, I'd never heard myself sing this song, or play it on harmonica, until now. Check it out.

That is so cool! To be added to the soundtracks of other peoples lives is very special.

You sound great, Boswell. Vocals and harmonica really blend nicely. I would have mixed feelings about having my music used for this without at least a credit, but the end result is lovely. And if you're OK with that, that's wonderful. Were you busking at this station? Is that how the ticket machine technician knew it was you?

Thanks guys,

Yes, Tom, I was busking at The Skywalk, which is the long hallway that spans over the train tracks to get to the escalators that lead down to The Seabus.

The ticket machine technician, Matt, knew it was me because he sees me play nearly everyday. He spotted this YouTube video on some Vancouver forum called Reddit, and played it for me on his phone.

There is one shot of the back of my torso, and you can see my left hand fretting over the top of my RISA Solid Soprano Electric Ukulele. These days, I'm playing Seydel Session Steel harmonicas on a neck rack. For Fly Me To The Moon, I play in D6 tuning, and I play a D harp (first position).

You know, I really should hire somebody, or bodies, to properly record a bunch of my songs.

This is very beautifully done: the music, the filming as well as the editing.

It would cost a lot to have such a video made, it's clearly a labor of love.

I would chime out to the person who uploaded this and probably made it (Maxim Adshead) and ask for a gentle reference or link in the YouTube notes.

All natural reverb! Fits the eery character of the tune, and of the images...
