Hello to all, been making noise on ukes for a few years and lurking around the ukulele sites. I don't have a soprano or a pineapple. So, this means I got to get a pineapple soprano. I have a Mainland tenor, so I'm thinking red cedar pineapple soprano. I also have a Ohana concert I'm very pleased with, so I'm thinking Ohana Vita. Now my thinkings got me backed in a corner.Anybody got any experience with either? I need some words of wisdom. Thanks, Uncle Boo.

The Ohana Vita is a terrific-sounding uke for the price. Even though it doesn't have the mojo of a vintage Vita (those "seal holes" just look sloppy), it does have the essential Vita shape and that big spruce sound board. If you can find one used, even better. Of course, it's not a "pineapple," more of a pear!

Thanks Tom for the reply. True, the Ohana Vita is not a real pineapple, but it is a fruit of sorts.
By the way, I'm selling a Gold Tone Banjo Uke over in the Market Place. Ya'll be sure to have a look.

Hey Uncle Boo,
I haven't been on this site for a while, but I can give a little feedback, assuming you haven't purchased a pineapple sop yet. I have an Ohana Vita. It is really LOUD. The spruce top booms out the sound. You will be heard with that one. I also have a soprano Flea which is somewhat pineapple-ish. It has great sound, intonation and weather resistance. I also have a KoAloha pineapple soprano which is by far the sweetest of the group. Solid koa, top, back and sides. Also $$$. Good luck in your search.

Thanks to all for the advice. But, I went with the Mainland Red Cedar Pineapple Soprano. I really, really, really like it. I went with that because I have been so pleased with the mahogany slot head tenor cutaway I have from them. Maybe I'll venture out for that Vita later on, but right now, I'm happy plucking away on the Mainland. Thanks again.
