I must be on roll. Picked up another classic ukulele for a reasonable deal.Came across a fun one today. A "Sherwood".
These were made by Gretsch in the '50's. Sold thru Montgomery Wards! Think of buying a Gretsch set thru Monkey Wards. Identical but for some reason has a slightly wider neck then the Gretsch branded ones. That helps me with my clumsy fingers! Plays nicely. I like the neck profile. Haven't seen anything for sale locally of interest since we moved here a year and a 1/2 ago. Now, two in a weeks time. I do like that vintage mahogany sound, tho. Had to have it. great neck profile. Plays well, and it has that nice vintage mahogany bark to it. Makes you wanna play Tin Pan Alley stuff. Kinda cool, since I play vintage Gretsch drums, also. And, it offsets off my koa Kamaka's nicely. Already played a few gigs on it. Great uke! .....

Congrats on a great score! That's a nice uke for its scarcity alone, and the fact that it's a player makes it a win-win! 8^)
