I was in the Navy living in Hawaii when I took up the Ukulele. I got a Kamaka Pinapple and took lessons at a Roy Sakuma studio. I loved it! I am a woodworker and
when found out Kamehameha schools offered a Uke making course I signed up. I made a 8 string tenor out of Mango wood with a cocobolo fret board and bridge and a turtle outline as the sound hole. I love to play popular hawaiian tunes as well as country and bluegrass music I find on the web. My favorite Uke player is Troy Fernandez (Ka'au Crater Boy's) and of course the great Iz Kamakawiwo'ole
