I am the current Director of a senior ukulele group named Ukulele Ladies & Gents. We are active in our community, playing and singing at civic and senior events, private parties, retirement and assisted living communities as well as nursing facilities. We play a wide variety of music, including oldies, novelties, country-western, gospel, and of course Hawaiian. We performed at the 36th Annual Ukulele Festival in Honolulu, Hawaii and we had a wonderful visit in paradise. Our latest adventure was to play for Senior Day at the Texas Capitol, 38 uke players strong. We participate in the King William (Fiesta) parade annually. What fun! Strummin-a-Little, Singin-a-long, Smilin-a-lot doesn't keep us off the streets, but it sure makes us happy!
