Hi my name is Helene and I have been playing Ukulele for a very long time, about 65 years, since I was a little girl. I learned to play by ear from my Step Father so I am not professionally trained. I do sight read sheet music a very little bit, mostly the chords is what I strum and I sing the melody. My favorite key is F Major, the key with one flat. Most of the songs that I play are in the key of F. Almost all of the songs that I know are from 30's, 40's and 50's with some newer songs that I have learned to play from books. I sing in two different vocal groups, one at church and the other one is from a show tune chorus. I am presently playing a tenor ukulele.
I am interested in starting up a group called, “ The Old Time Player's ”. The date's time and place is to yet be determined. I know of a place near where I live that has a room with a piano that we could meet.
You do not have to play an instrument to participate, only a love for the old time songs and maybe help out by singing along. So dust off those old songs and join the fun with Helene and, “ The Old Time Player's ”.
