New Listing Ohana Bass Ukulele OBU-22
I purchased this new in December of 2014 and I love it, but my hands are too small for the neck. It is in perfect condition. It gives an acoustic bass sound, is compact (36 inches in length), has metal roundwood bass strings, a Fishman Presys + Bass pickup, and a handy and accurate built-in tuner. It sounds great through an amp too. It has a pretty solid spruce top and even prettier mahogany back & sides, all with a gloss finish. It comes with a nice backpack-style padded gig bag.

Price: $395 + $25 shipping and handling

********************************************************

Up for sale is my Flea Concert sized Koa with Hardwood Fretboard. These hardly ever come up for sale. This will come with a custom hard shell case that fits it exactly. It has Fremont Blackine strings which really makes it sing.

Excellent condition, with a DISCLOSURE. A few months ago, the Flea took a tumble and the Koa soundboard was damaged. Not wanting to take a chance, I immediately sent it back to Dale at Magic Fluke factory for repair.

The following is Dale's comments made to me after he did the repair.

<<<<< It looks and checked out as good as new. If well cared for and humidified when needed, it should last as good as new however a close inspection will reveal evidence of a repair. >>>>>

I cannot tell there was ever a repair. It sounds as good as ever.

Priced on their website is $447 with shipping.

Price is $350 CONUS shipped with the hard shell case. OBO

I am selling because I have a Clara now and that will be my travel Uke.

Thanks for reading.

New Listing Kanile'a Island Inlay Premium tenor for sale
I'm currently selling this uke (along with my Kamaka)because I no longer play it after getting my Moore Bettah. I got this model used from HMS a couple of years ago. It is very curly premium koa, and inlayed with an abalone inlay of the Hawaiian island chain. It was purchased from Hawaii Music Supply for $1990 and Joe Souza installed a Kanile'a active pickup inside of it. When I bought this uke from HMS, they had a sound sample video demo from Aaron. I could not find it on the HMS site any longer, but downloaded it when I first bought the uke. As a result, I have uploaded it to Youtube so you can see it. This is not a sample of the model, this is the exact uke used in the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTyJTrhM_aI I am also attaching a couple of photos of the front and back of the instrument. This uke is in mint condition, with no scratches or blemishes anywhere on the instrument. I am including the photos HMS used as well as some taken today with the usual UU sign. I am not looking for any trades, only to sell so while I appreciate trade offers, I am not interested in obtaining a uke in exchange for this one. I have two ukes for sale right now (this one and my Kamaka tenor) but unfortunately only one case at the moment. So I'm hoping I can sell this one locally in the greater Los Angeles region without a case. If so, I would like to get $1400 for it. If someone outside of LA is interested, and this sells before the Kamaka, I would sell it shipped in the U.S. for $1500 with a case included. In the event that packaging and shipping with insurance costs less than $100, you have my solemn promise I will refund you the difference. If the Kamaka sells first, and requires me purchasing an additional case, then I would sell this one for $1550 with the understanding that you would receive a refund of any amount not needed in that $150 allowance for case, shipping, packaging and insurance. I will be out of town from May 25-June 4 so if I cannot deliver it in person (or ship it) before that date, I promise to do so immediately upon my return on June 5th. Thanks for looking.

SOLDNew Listing Kamaka HF-3 curly koa tenor for sale
I purchased this ukulele a few years ago from someone who said it was a NAMM instrument. It is a curly koa Kamaka HF-3 tenor. I am selling it (and my Kanile'a Island Inlay Premium tenor) because I don't play them any more after getting my Moore Bettah. It has been fitted with a MiSi pickup by a technician at McCabe's in Santa Monica, California. It was originally a satin finish but Chris Kamaka had it re-done in the gloss finish for me. Initially when they did so, there was a problem with the seam separating, but that was then repaired by Kamaka. It is not in mint condition, but rather in very good condition. It has a couple of blemishes on the bottom of the instrument (see photo) and also one blemish on the back (see photo). Additionally, there is some green stuff on the ends of the frets (see photo). All in all, it is a very good uke. I don't have a sound sample, but I can try to record one if you email me and are interested. A new Kamaka HF-3 is going for about $1245 right now, I paid $1000 for it. I am not looking for any trades, only to sell so while I appreciate trade offers, I am not interested in obtaining a uke in exchange for this one. I have two ukes for sale right now (this one and my Kanile'a tenor) but unfortunately only one case at the moment. So I'm hoping I can sell this one locally in the greater Los Angeles region without a case. If so, I would like to get $700 for it. If someone outside of LA is interested, and this sells before the Kanilea, I would sell it shipped in the U.S. for $800 with a case included. In the event that packaging and shipping with insurance costs less than $100, you have my solemn promise I will refund you the difference. If the Kanilea sells first, and requires me purchasing an additional case, then I would sell this one for $850 with the understanding that you would receive a refund of any amount not needed in that $150 allowance for case, shipping, packaging and insurance. I will be out of town from May 25-June 4 so if I cannot deliver it in person (or ship it) before that date, I promise to do so immediately upon my return on June 5th. Thanks for looking.

New Listing F/S or F/T Mya-Moe #763 Curly Myrtle Tenor Cascade Series
F/S Mya-Moe #763 Curly Myrtle Tenor Cascade Series with hard shell case

*****************************************************

Pictures can be seen at:

https://plus.google.com/photos/117301768638000511839/albums/6135499578494403553

OK folks. Up for sale is a real prize. A Mya-Moe Tenor #763

The total description of this Uke can be read in the link below, so no need to repeat, and yes, it has a radius fretboard.

When I questioned Gordon of Mya-Moe about the wood quality, he said this about this Uke:

"Master Grade is a very subjective determination which we make. We didn’t grade 763 as Master Grade, but it is very close."

******* FULL DISCLOSURE *******

I sold this Uke to someone a few weeks back and it was damaged during shipping. The person didn't want to have it repaired so I took it back.

I called Gordon at Mya-Moe and he personally recommended Portland Fretworks in Oregon as the people who I should be sending this to for repair. He also uses them when they are too busy to do repairs themselves.

I did so and now have it back. It looks amazing and I can't tell that there was ever a repair. This was the assessment of Todd at Portland Fretworks after the repair.

<<<<< Your uke is done and ready to be shipped home. The repair came out well. I think you will have difficulty locating the crack (although you can see the cleats on the inside) >>>>>

The following are the pictures of the damage.

https://plus.google.com/photos/117301768638000511839/albums/6142964071499308625

Other than this, this Uke is in wonderful condition, with the only thing being a very slight mark below the bridge when some strings snapped. Otherwise, you are getting a real beauty.

A recent video put out by Mya-Moe said they will be cutting production from approx 350 to approx 220 Ukes. This is your chance to get one now instead of waiting in the queue for a very long time, and at a lower price than you would be paying. (A build on the MM website shows $1640 + shipping amount + the wait time.)

MAKE ME A REASONABLE OFFER. THOSE WHO KNOW ME KNOW I AM GOOD TO DEAL WITH AND HONEST WITH MY ASSESSMENTS.

DON'T BE SHY. IF YOUR OFFER IS UNACCEPTABLE, I WILL MAKE A COUNTER OFFER..

This is information from the Mya-Moe website about this particular Uke.

This is Aaron's video on this particular Uke.

New Listing Vintage Martin 1C Concert Ukulele for Sale
For Sale: Vintage Martin Style 1C Concert Ukulele. I estimate this ukulele to be from the late forties to early fifties. It is in very good used condition, with normal wear from use. It has one professionally cleated and glued 4" back crack, done by Jim Lombard, a Martin authorized repairman, and a possible 1" crack on the back at the inside edge of the kerfed lining at the treble side of the lower bout. The finish is original with some crazing. The instrument is attractive dark mahogany with the earlier, browner tortoise plastic binding and a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. It has T-frets and ebony nut and saddle. The bridge and string slots are perfect. It has the original Grover Champion tuners with black buttons This hard-to-find concert size Martin is made a bit more special by having the "Made In USA" stamp on the back of the peghead, indicating it was for export. It comes with an excellent Harptone hard shell case, which are no longer available. It plays beautifully and roars when strummed. Sound samples and more pictures available. I only play tenor-scale ukulele now, so this one needs to go where it will be loved. $1100 or best offer plus $45.16 USPS insured standard shipping.

Brand New Kanile'a SET-UV Silk Tenor Ukulele
I am selling a brand new Kanile'a SET-UV Silk tenor ukulele. It was purchased about one month ago and was made in February of 2015. I am forced to sell this beauty because my wife won't let me purchase any more until I sell a few. This instrument is truly amazing! It has the smoothest finish I've ever felt on a ukulele. The grain on this uke is very figured/curly yet it has a very resonant/open sound to it. It is very warm and sweet with excellent note separation. I really don't want to part with this gem but have a custom shop Kanile'a in the works at the moment. This instrument has an ebony fretboard and headstock faceplate with a mother of pearl Kanile'a logo. This is one of the nicest production ukes I've ever seen or felt or heard. Anyone who purchases this will be in love. In fact, I love the finish so much, I'm having my custom come the same way. Included is a hard shell case. E-mail me with any questions or if you'd like to see more photos.

Brand New Koaloha KSM-T2 Soprano Body With Tenor Neck Ukulele
I have for sale a brand new Koaloha KSM-T2 ukulele. It has a Soprano body with a Tenor scale neck. This instrument is in mint condition and has only been played for approximately 1 hour total or so. I'm a really big guy (6'9") and am partial to Tenor or Baritone ukes. This instrument is very loudly voiced and will drown out most Tenors from other brands. It has a very beautiful wood grain to it seeing as most Koalohas tend to be on the plain side. Included is an Access bag semi-hard case. I named it "Pepe Le Uke" due to the stripe down the middle. Please e-mail me with any questions or if you'd like to see more photos.

Republic classic concert bell brass resonator. Style 604. Details available at RepublicGuitars.com. It's like brand new. Bone nut, maple saddle, rosewood biscuit and nicely bound fretboard. SOLD Gorgeous Kamaka White-Label Pineapple
I've switched to playing longneck soprano, so I'll be selling off my collection of regular sopranos. First one up is a real "time capsule." This white-label Kamaka pineapple is in amazing condition and comes with its original case. Check out the photos and email me if you need more. I don't know what year this uke is from, but it has a koa, not rosewood, fingerboard and the smaller, earlier tuners that predated the big clunky Schallers. Action is good and the voice is loud! Condition: Super clean and all original. I don't see any cracks, strum wear or fretboard wear. The original finish is lovely. Except for an edge ding on the headstock (shown) the only issues I see are: the finish is a little cloudy/funky around the very edge of the fingerboard extension and the very edges of the bridge. I suspect it left the factory this way. Also, on the back, I can feel the center seam very lightly with my fingertips, although it does not appear to be opening. You can see more photos here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/shutterbutt/sets/72157652340756746/ This is a pretty special uke, especially in this condition. It will be shipped insured with case and a fully charged humidifier. Please email me with any questions. Shipping to lower 48 is included in the price. All others, please email me and we'll work it out. Thanks for looking.

SOLD Gibson TU-1 Tenor Uke!
Aloha! It’s time to reduce our collection to a manageable size. We will be selling off a bunch of ukes over the next few months. This is a Gibson TU-1 Tenor in “well loved” condition. The serial number is 200870 and according to the Gibson site is probably from the 1960’s, but that is the best info I can find. The uke has a repaired crack that runs about ½ way up the back. Finish is crazed on all sides, back, and top and there are two gouges in the side. MOP Dot inlays, looks like a rosewood bridge, and fretboard, with ivoroid bridge pins, and original tuners. The crack was repaired at a local uke/guitar repair shop and restrung at the same time. The uke came without a case. It plays and sounds great. Just needs a new home and someone to play it. We just have too many ukes, if that is possible, and it has been sitting since I bought it. We are selling off the majority of our collection. Price is $525 plus shipping and optional insurance. Mahalo for looking! We also have some Gretsch prototypes and others that we will be listing, and a vintage MACCAFERRI G40 guitar if anyone is interested please email for photos. Since this is a uke site I like to follow the rules. John Lisicich 253-468-3674 mobile

Beard Odyssey concert resonator with case
Beard concert resonator uke, by renowned resonator luthier Paul Beard. Mahogany body and neck, with rosewood fretboard. This uke is the biscuit bridge version ( I believe there may also have been a spider bridge version). It features a bass baffle that results in a sound that, while very loud, is less tinny than the typical resonator. This uke is used but is in as new condition. It has received minimal play, and there are no strum marks, dings scrapes or scuffs or other wear. Includes hardshell case show in photo. This is a link to a pretty thorough review: [link]http://ukeeku.com/2013/07/23/beard-concert-reso-uke-full-review/[/link] Interview of Paul Beard: [link]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6Vzng8xvlM[/link] $750.00, plus shipping

SOLD LoPrinzi Model AC-T tenor, cherry, plus hard case
LoPrinzi Model AC-T tenor. The top back and sides are solid cherry, and the fretboard is rosewood. I am very partial to cherry. But aside from the beauty of the cherry, the thing I like best about this uke is the very thin and comfortable neck profile. And also the simplicity of the heel of the neck, which I think is very well formed. I think the LoPrinzi neck is the nicest of any uke. This uke is used, but has been played very little. There are no nicks or scratches. Please note that at the base of the front of the body, there is a short section where it appears the seam between the two top pieces may possibly be slightly separated. I'm not sure they are in fact separated but it may be the case that they are. Or it may be that this is just the way it was built. In any case, the top was like this when I acquired the uke seven or eight years ago and it hasn't changed since. I have shown the area in question in one of the photos. Its a sweet sounding uke and plays beautifully. The hard case shown in the photos included. $485.00 plus shipping.

Beltona concert resonator
Beltona concert resonator ukulele, excellent condition with only minor signs of playing wear. There is a tiny chip at the base of the headstock between the two bass side strings (see pic) that is purely cosmetic.

The body is made of fiberglass so it is much more lightweight than other resonator ukuleles. Much nicer sound and better quality than the low end reso ukes that sell for $400 or so. It is more on par with a National, but without the $1500-2000 price tag.

Includes hard foam case - the handle is missing but the straps work.

See video of this Beltona with a National for comparison at https://youtu.be/e9yj5jAhP1I

Laughlin 3M
Mint unplayed. Built in late 2014. Tim has made fewer than 150 ukuleles total in 30 years and they have become more difficult to acquire and it will become even more so as he is building fewer all the time. With all due respect to other builders I've yet seen anything that matches Tims work. Stunning jewels that boom and bark. Wonderful pieces of useful art. This 3M is incredibly sweet, mint and available.

SOLD - 2008 Kamaka Tenor Ukulele
I picked this beautiful tenor out of a stack of them at Lahaina Music on Maui in 2008. I loved the deep rich round and the curl in the koa on the top, and I still love them. Now my left hand issues are such that the tenor scale is hard on my hands, so I'm selling this ukulele. I tried playing lefthand for awhile, so there is a patched hold on the neck where a straP button used to live (see last picture). That's the only flaw on this otherwise mint ukulele. It comes with the original Kamaka hardshell case and some extra sets of strings. Thank you for looking.

Slingerland May-Bell banjo ukulele with 3 heads
This restored May-Bell with resonator on an 8-inch pot is a rare bird, especially at this price. I got it stripped of finish with filthy hardware and no head. You can have it with a restored finish, polished hardware (although still vintage-looking) and with 3 heads: The installed Remo fiberskyn which I think has just the right balance of resonance and punch; the included Renaissance head will brighten that up a bit and the mounted skin head will give it more depth. No case, but I'll pack it well.

Vintage C F Martin Style 2K Koa Soprano
Vintage C F Martin Style 2K Koa Soprano Ukulele ~1927-1931~ According to the bible, Walsh and King Martin book, Martin made 2K sopranos from 1919 to 1931 and Martin made 475 of these 2K ukuleles. That's it! This Vintage Martin is approaching 100 years old, isn’t that cool? Ok so what I know about this Vintage Martins in Koa is they all get cracks and this one is no different but it does not affect its playability because it tunes right up no problem, neck is straight too. I have also had two luthiers look at it and they were equally amazed by this Martin and said there are no reason for any repairs. Each luthier told me that all the cracks appear to have been repaired to keep the cracks in check. I have made no attempt to clean or adjust this ukulele other than buy a hard case which is included; I haven’t even changed the strings, there old too. There is a noticeable piece missing at the bottom of the sound hole. Also there few cracks in the body of this ukulele: one to the left of the soundboard and approx. 6 on the back. As mentioned all cracks appear to have been repaired at some time. This Vintage Marin is in very good structural and playing condition despite the (repaired?) cracks. Now the back story, I bought this ukulele off a guy who found it at an estate sale in Hemet California. He bought it from a little old lady in her 90’s that said it had belonged to her father. So imagine, he could have bought it new in 1927 for about $14, it’s very possible.

Martin 1M Soprano Uke, 1950s
I have a beautiful Martin 1M soprano uke from the 1950s in near mint condition, all original, superb playability and sound, no cracks, hardshell case, Aguila nylgut strings (high G). I've played many Martin sopranos from various eras, and in my humble opinion, I think this is one of the very best. I'm no longer playing sopranos now, and would love to see this uke in the hands of a player who would enjoy and appreciate it as much as I have these past many years. Price: $1000. I'm much more interested in trading than cashing out. Would consider a concert uke, concert resonator uke, or a very small classical guitar/guitarlele, or Cordoba mini guitar (50mm nut and 550mm or under scale length). I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area and favor an in-person trade/transaction. I'd (reluctantly!) ship, but to contiguous US only, with buyer paying shipping/insurance. Happy playing!

SOLD Kanile'a Custom Chocolate Heart Mango Tenor
Kanile'a Custom Chocolate Heart Mango Tenor.

In a previous trade, I received this stunning Kanile’a Custom Tenor, made with gorgeous, all solid Master Grade Chocolate Heart Mango.

I had high hopes for it, but it is very different from my KoAloha Ukes and I prefer their sound. I cannot consciously hold onto this. It must be played.

The condition is pristine. The pictures show different strings that are on it now. I will put the Low G back on it unless the buyer prefers I leave a High G on it.

Sound Sample: https://app.box.com/s/o2bxlbko9awpv12scefeh9ym0z4pvqvj

This is a custom tenor. It is the prettiest Uke I have ever owned and purely from an aesthetics point of view, it is a stunner. Get it and you can play a beautiful sounding instrument and look great doing it.

Price is $xxx with a hardshell case. $35 shipping in the CONUS. Free shipping if purchased without the case.

This decal is complete and readable. There is a black label with gold lettering inside which reads “Genuine Koa Wood Made in Hawaii Y’ Ke Ke Ukulele J M S”. Uke has a solid and discrete triple inlay around the sound hole which is smooth and not chipped. Two piece neck with integral fretboard. The back extends up in one piece over the bottom of the heel, a common feature on older Hawaiian made ukes. The back has a gentle and symmetrical convex curve to it. This appears to be original, not the result of distortion due to age or shrinkage. In wonderful shape, no cracks or delaminations, and all glue joints are solid. This uke is made of clear blemish free koa with subtle traces of tiger striping and has acquired a wonderful patina over the years. Fretboard may have been refinished. A piece of authentic Hawaiiana, this is not kitschy or touristy junk. Approximately 5 3/4" at widest point, by 20 1/2" long by 2 1/2" tall. Uke weighs 260g as-is. A well made instrument of modest proportions and weight, and appears to be of good quality. I am unsure on the age, but would speculate that it was likely made in the 1920's or 1930's. This uke has been in my collection for nearly 12 years. Photographs were taken outdoors and show the uke a bit redder than it is. No tuning pegs or strings are included. I have never played it. Shipping from Vancouver via Canada Post is $25 to Canada, $45 to the mainland US, $65 to the UK, $80 to Japan. Insurance is also available if desired. Contact me for other international shipping costs or if you wish to make other shipping arrangements.

WTT vintage barrel tuners for Martin wood pegs
I acquired this set of barrel tuners for the purpose of upgrading a vintage Martin, but have decided to look for a set of original Martin wood pegs instead. Most will agree that the barrel tuners (I don't know the manufacturer) are superior tuners. I just want to be authentic, and so my obsessiveness can be your gain. If you have a set of wooden pegs like the ones pictured here (not the type with the slotted ends), and would like to trade, please drop me a note. I need 8 pegs in total, so there will be more horse-trading, if this works out. Thanks for looking! (you'll need to fix the spam-proofing in the email address)
